Partner Kirby Drake Presents at Dallas STEM Teacher Roundtable

DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading litigation, intellectual property (IP), and business law firm, announces Partner Kirby Drake was a panel presenter at the Dallas STEM Teacher Roundtable on March 4, 2019.

The event’s topic was “Exciting Students to Dallas-Forth Worth Area STEM Careers and Opportunities”.  It was hosted by the Teacher Enrichment Program of the Center for Excellence in Education, at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas.

The panel presentations and discussion that followed, as well as the networking event, were designed to help teachers understand STEM careers, so that they may in turn guide their students about current and future educational and career opportunities in the field.

For her portion of the panel presentation, Ms. Drake presented on her background to earn her chemistry degree and later her law degree.  She also discussed her patent practice as well as involvement in the American Chemical Society and The Shoulders of Giants, a Dallas-based non-profit focused on science education.

Kirby Drake is the current Chair of the American Chemical Society Committee on Patents & Related Matters.  Ms. Drake serves as the 2018-2019 Chair for the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is experienced in many areas of intellectual property law and focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, addressing a broad range of technologies. Ms. Drake earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude, in chemistry from Duke University.
