The Best Sautéed Chicken Breast

This is one of the simplest and best recipes in the book: sautéed chicken breast using salt and pepper. With just three ingredients, it is amazing how good this dish is and easy to make. This is our family’s favorite way to cook chicken.

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 chicken breasts (skinless and boneless)

  • Salt and pepper

  • 2 Tbsp avocado or olive oil

Directions:

  1. Bring a large pan to medium high and add oil.

  2. Lightly spray the surface of the chicken with oil and salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Place chicken in the pan for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.

  4. The challenge with this dish is if the chicken breasts are thick, they won’t cook all the way through in 7 minutes and you run the risk of burning the skin. After a few of these episodes, I now make chicken cutlets by slicing the breasts in half, lengthwise, which reduces the thickness by 50%. Depending on the thickness of the chicken, you may need to reduce the heat to medium.

  5. If you want to up the flavor level a bit, you can swap out the salt and pepper for 2 teaspoons Lawry's® 25% Less Sodium Seasoned Salt and 1 teaspoon Lawry's® Garlic Pepper.
