Omelette From The Bear TV Show
The famous potato-chip omelet appears in Season 2, Episode 9 of The Bear, where Sydney offers to make a pregnant Sugar (hopefully not a spoiler) something to eat. While The Bear is one of my favorite TV shows, I thought this recipe was a bit gimmicky watching the episode. I later got interested in recreating the recipe and boy was I wrong. This omelet really delivers. The potato chips, chives, and herbed cheese are really a great combination.
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1-2 pats of butter
Potato chips, lightly crushed
Chives, chopped
Boursin cheese (I used the “garlic and fine herbs” version)
Directions:
Whisk the eggs and place into a pan on medium after the butter melts.
Scramble the eggs until formed and flip over.
Add the Boursin cheese. This is by far the hardest part because Sydney placed an even strip of cheese across the omelet. I am far from a perfectionist when it comes to cooking, so I simply did the best I could to make a somewhat even strip of cheese. Boursin is a soft cheese, so it is not that hard to pull this off.
Fold the sides of the omelet.
Place on a plate and garnish with potato chips and chives on top.
You can take it to the next level by adding butter on the top of the omelet before adding the potato chips and chives.
I liked this omelet so much I refrained from adding picante sauce or Tobasco sauce to it, which is saying a lot.
