Klemchuk Kubasta LLP Expands to Accommodate Growth

Firm Leases 10th Floor in Campbell Centre II for Thriving IP Law Practice

Jul 06, 2011 – DALLAS – At a time when other businesses are downsizing, Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading full-service intellectual property (IP) law firm in Dallas, is expanding. To accommodate the firm’s growth in 2010 and 2011, KK LLP is leasing new space on the 10th floor of the Campbell II building in Campbell Centre, more than doubling their space. The move, which marks the firm’s two-year anniversary, is planned for completion by July 9.

According to Darin Klemchuk, co-founder and managing partner, the firm’s rapid growth, which tripled in size during the past two years, necessitated the move into the new 16,000 sq.-ft. space. “Our growth has been unique because we have worked to distinguish our service offering in the market,” said Klemchuk. “Not only do we take a business approach to practicing law, we also carefully examine and respond to the changing demands of the market.”

For Klemchuk Kubasta, this has not only meant adopting various technological innovations that keep the company agile and information- savvy; it has meant adding new practice groups and specialties. Beyond its core practice in litigation and enforcement of all forms of IP, patents, trademarks, trade dress and copyrights, the firm has also recently expanded their legal offerings to add Social Media and eCommerce practice groups.

“From 2009, when the practice was founded, Klemchuk Kubasta has grown into a burgeoning firm of 24 people, which includes our two new practice divisions,” added Klemchuk. “Over the next two years, we plan to add another 3-4 attorneys, and an additional 3-4 support staff members, with plans to continue that expansion schedule every two years. For this reason, it was critical that our new offices could support our long-term growth goals.”

According to Klemchuk, the new space will accommodate up to 24 attorneys and an additional 25 staff members. The other benefit to the space is its central location in the metroplex. “Our existing offices in Campbell Centre II are ideally located between downtown Dallas and the Richardson/Plano hi-tech corridor. This location has served us well; therefore, as we planned our expansion, it only made sense to find new space in the building that could grow with us.”

Kelly Kubasta, the firm’s other co-founder and senior partner, says KK LLP has developed a unique reputation that has aided its growth. “We identified an underserved business niche in a market that is dominated by large, international law firms,” said Kubasta. “We offer the same litigation, prosecution, transactional counseling, and international business and trade expertise as you would find in a larger firm, yet with an exceptionally high level of service, value and commitment to long-term relationships. This has been one of the primary drivers behind our growth.”

Kubasta adds that this strategy has helped to create a special company culture that has attracted top-tier talent. “We are more than attorneys at Klemchuk Kubasta, we are innovative problem solvers and provide a value-added resource for our clients,” continued Kubasta. “We have also created a unique work environment that supports creativity, training and leadership, and has resulted in the firm being named one of the Dallas Business 1170692339 Journal’s ‘Best Places to Work’ in 2010. In all, this has established us as a law firm with an unparalleled handprint in the market.”
