Spicy Steak Fries
Spicy steak fries are a great addition to any red meat meal—or as a standalone appetizer. For this recipe, we use avocado oil, but butter can be substituted for a creamier taste. This recipe is a quick and easy side dish with a little extra kick. The spiciness can be easily controlled by the amount of red pepper used.
Ingredients:
2 pounds of potatoes, russet or baking potatoes work best, but any style should work
Avocado oil or other neutral oil with a high smoke point
Sea salt or Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
Black Pepper
Crushed Red Pepper (you can control the spiciness by the amount of red pepper added to the potatoes)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
Slice the potatoes into manageable, thin wedges lengthwise
Assemble potatoes wedges in a pan lined with aluminum foil
Spray the potato wedges with avocado oil, and season lightly with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper
Flip the potato wedges and repeat seasoning process
Bake for 30 minutes or until potatoes become tender
