Associate Tiffany Johnson, NSBE DFW Celebrate ‘Hidden Figures’ of Dallas
DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading intellectual property (IP), technology, and business law firm, announces Tiffany Johnson, associate, will host the "Hidden Figures of Dallas" awards, in collaboration with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Professionals Chapter. Johnson serves as president of the NSBE DFW Professionals Chapter, and she credits NSBE as the inspiration that led her to pursue a degree in engineering.
Inspired by the book and film Hidden Figures, the awards are designed to recognize influential women of color in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields in the DFW Metroplex.
“We hope that by honoring the ‘Hidden Figures’ of Dallas, we will effectively engage the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex in recognizing and supporting STEM education initiatives and careers,” Johnson said. “In particular, we hope that more women will feel empowered to embrace careers in STEM.”
The chapter has participated in the national NSBE Technical Outreach Community Help (T.O.R.C.H.) program and the annual “A Walk for Education” (AWFE).
“We are so proud of Tiffany’s service with the NSBE DFW chapter,” said Darin M. Klemchuk, Managing Partner. “I believe that the 'Hidden Figures of Dallas' awards will be a tremendous success and will encourage young women in Dallas to pursue more and more careers in STEM.”
Nominations are available through Feb. 17, and the chapter will announce winners on Feb. 25 during National Engineers Week (Feb. 19-25). The awards ceremony will take place on March 25, and the keynote speaker will be Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, the first female Ranking Member of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
The awards have been promoted on the City Influencer, Southern Dallas Magazine, the Dallas Morning News, and Dallas Innovates. On Feb. 15, Johnson and other NSBE board members will be interviewed by KRNB 105.7 and K104 FM to discuss the awards program during a community affairs show entitled “What’s Going On.”
Johnson focuses primarily on patent prosecution and strategic patent portfolio management. Johnson earned her J.D. cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University where she served as Business Editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review. She earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
