Managing Principal Kirby Drake Presents Trademark Basics at SCHB
DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading intellectual property (IP), litigation, and business law firm, announces Managing Principal Kirby Drake shared trademark basics at the American Chemical Society’s Division of Small Chemical Businesses in March 2018. Drake’s presentation introduced the trademark process as well as the benefits of owning a trademark in the U.S., and the common pitfalls of Do-It-Yourself registration and enforcement. Additionally, Drake discussed the possible uses of a competitor’s trademarks on business products and advertising, and contemporary issues in false advertising.
Drake currently serves as Chair of the ACS Patents Committee, and has previously served with as Chair of the Legislation subcommittee under the Patents and Related Matters committee, as Chair of the DFW local section, and as General Chair of the Southwest Regional Meeting. She has also led various State Bar of Texas and Dallas Bar Association sections.

Drake is experienced in many areas of intellectual property law and focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, addressing a broad range of technologies. Drake earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude, in chemistry from Duke University.
