DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading intellectual property (IP), technology, and business law firm, announces Kirby Drake, Managing Principal, participated as an attorney volunteer at the Community Entrepreneurs Patents & Trademarks Workshop in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 21, 2017.

The workshop provided free educational IP sessions for local entrepreneurs to learn about how to apply for patents and trademarks. The event was a collective effort by the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the State Bar of Texas Intellectual Property Section where Drake serves as Vice Chair.

Drake presented an overview of the patent process and pitfalls of Do-It-Yourself IP. She also participated in small group and one-on-one consultations with the entrepreneurs regarding the patent process.

Drake is experienced in many areas of intellectual property law and focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, addressing a broad range of technologies. Drake earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in chemistry from Duke University.
