Managing Principal Kirby Drake Attends 2018 SBOT Annual Meeting, Chairs IP Section
DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading intellectual property (IP), litigation, and business law firm, announces Managing Principal Kirby Drake attended the 2018 State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting on June 21-22 in Houston. This occasion marked the end of Drake’s term as Chair of the Women and the Law Section, and her beginning as Chair of the Intellectual Property Section for 2018-2019. Drake headed the Women and the Law CLE on June 21. Section events included a diversity discussion in collaboration with various SBOT minority sections, and dialogues over the #MeToo movement and sexual harassment in the workplace. On June 22 Drake served as course director of the IP CLE, covering topics such as trade secrets in the tech industry, as well as trademarks, counterfeiting, ethics, and the future of IP.
In addition to her involvement with the State Bar of Texas, Drake holds leadership roles in the Dallas Bar Association and the American Chemical Society.
Drake is experienced in many areas of intellectual property law and focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, addressing a broad range of technologies. Drake earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude, in chemistry from Duke University.
