Kirby Drake & Gary Sorden Named as Texas Rising Stars
DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading intellectual property (IP) law firm, announces the recognition of Kirby Drake and Gary Sorden as 2016 Rising Stars in Intellectual Property Litigation by Texas Super Lawyers magazine, a Thomson Reuters service. Rising Stars are heavily assessed by Texas Super Lawyers through a meticulous selection process, and must meet the publication’s strict set of guidelines. To qualify, lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys age 40 or under, or those who have been practicing for 10 years or fewer. In order for an attorney to be nominated, another lawyer must personally observe these individuals in action. Additionally, an attorney-led research team reviews the credentials of potential candidates and assigns points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria. Those with the highest point totals are named to the Rising Stars list. While up to 5 percent of the lawyers in a state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to Rising Stars.
Drake, Managing Principal at Klemchuk LLP, has been recognized as a Rising Star nine times since 2007. Sorden, who is also a Managing Principal at the firm, has been recognized as a Rising Star for the last five consecutive years.
“We are proud to have such talented attorneys on our team, representing the firm. We are constantly impressed by Kirby’s efficiency and quality of her work, and few attorneys advocate for their clients as well as Gary does,” said Darin M. Klemchuk, Managing Partner. “We are excited that other legal professionals are recognizing them for their work.”
