Klemchuk Kubasta LLP Partner Kirby Drake Presents to Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium
Kirby Drake presents An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Intellectual Property
Kirby Drake, partner at Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading intellectual property (IP) law firm, recently presented to retail agents, brokers, risk managers, insurance carrier executives, wholesalers, insurance general agents, among others at the Seventh Annual Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium (EIS).
The Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium, created by MarketScout, is a medium to profile innovation and entrepreneurialism in the insurance industry. The event brought over 300 attendees together with the goal of fostering creativity and new thought. The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research has joined with MarketScout to give the attendees an opportunity to share new ideas, tends and concepts related to insurance distribution, underwriting and automation.
Drake provided an overview of the different types of intellectual property (IP), including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. She then discussed common intellectual property issues that can arise for an entrepreneur, and she advised the attendees on best practices for an entrepreneur when facing intellectual property issues.
”EIS is a fantastic opportunity to learn about what is going on in the entrepreneurial insurance industry and to hear from top people in the field about the successes and failures that they have experienced. I thank MarketScout for the opportunity to speak to this group and also generally to have the experience of being a part of EIS as an attendee,” Drake said.
